How Chiropractors Treat Frozen Shoulder?
Frozen shoulder is a condition that causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder. Frozen shoulder begins with trauma or surgical procedures that result in chronic inflammation of that joint – other joints are not affected.
Frozen shoulder is most likely to occur in people who are 35-50 years old. This condition severely limits the range of motion of your shoulder. Frozen shoulder begins with inflammation that, if not treated immediately, results in scarring, thickening, and shrinkage of the joint capsule.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

NO WAY OUT OF THIS
Stress comes from many directions, work, family, friends, and finances are common sources. While emotional stress symptoms can sometimes be difficult to diagnose, the signs of Physical Stress (PS) are easy for most people to identify. PS expresses itself as tight muscles, headaches, high blood pressure, loss of sleep, stroke and even heart attacks.
Thankfully the symptoms associated with PS are more likely to be mild vs. severe – at least in the short term.
Stressful situations cause muscle tension which lead to tension which can lead to neck pain, headaches, back pain, general fatigue and body aches. Continue reading “Stress – How Stress Affects Your Body And Health”
As a San Diego chiropractor, I spend alot of my time each day treating lower back pain in my patients. Statistics show that about 80% of the population will experience significant lower back pain at some point during their lifetime. Most of my patients experience low back pain because of a lack of exercise combined with a poor diet and postural stress. As you might imagine, treating lower back pain successfully takes more than chiropractic adjustments.
Treating Lower Back Pain in San Diego
Treating low back pain needs to include some lifestyle improvements for many of my chiropractic patients. I always tell my patients that they need to identify the things that they do to aggravate their backs and eliminate or modify them. As it turns out, the best time to pinpoint specific things that aggravate your back is while you have back pain.
All you have to do is pay attention to the movements or positions that make your pain worse. The activities that aggravate your back while you are in pain are the same activities that stress your back everyday – modifying these activities will decrease the daily stress you put on your back making future episodes of back pain less likely. Eliminating the source of irritation is extremely important for fast healing with limited set backs.
There are Stabilizing Exercises for Lower Back Pain
There are specific stretches and exercises that can help with stabilizing lower back pain. In many cases patients have tight hamstrings that need to be stretched and weak abs and glutes that need to be strengthened. Weak and overstretched muscle groups vary from patient to patient so it is best to get evaluated before you begin specific exercises for treating lower back pain.
Chiropractic care for treating low back pain normally includes therapy to help relax muscles and reduce inflammation combined with joint adjustments that help reduce pain and improve range of motion. Once your pain is reduced you will benefit from specific stretches and exercises that will help increase strength and flexibility making your lower back more resistant to future episodes of pain.
Wake up with a stiff neck lately?
When was the last time you woke up with a stiff neck? It’s a horrible feeling – your neck is stiff, painful and your head feels heavy. From personal experience I know that sometimes I know what I did to aggravate my neck but many times I have no idea what I did to cause my neck pain and stiffness.

Car Accident Recovery
Most of us worry more about the condition of our cars than we do ourselves following a car accident. When we are involved in an accident, our bodies release adrenaline which can mask pain. For many people, the pain and tightness associated with a car accident injury does not appear for hours, days or sometimes weeks following the accident. In the meantime, we are completely immersed in arranging for our cars to be repaired.
Best Neck Stretches for Decreasing Stress
The best neck stretches for decreasing stress are the ones that can be done conveniently. So long as stretches can be done without causing pain they can be effective in reducing stress and, sometimes, pain. Stretching has always been an important part of my patient’s treatments at my San Diego chiropractic clinic. It is no surprise that when my patients stretch, they get better faster and have less of a chance of developing a similar problem in the future. Since we spend so much time with computers and other devices that stress our necks, it only makes sense that doing neck stretches on a regular basis would be beneficial.

Simple Sciatica Stretches to Relieve Leg Pain
There are a handful of issues that cause sciatica, that being said, sciatica stretches will help most of them regardless of the cause. While sciatica can be due to a herniated disc in the lower back, most cases of sciatica are caused by tight muscles and irritated or inflamed joints. Although sciatica caused by a herniated disc represents a more severe medical condition, even these cases of sciatica usually benefit from the right sciatica stretches. I have had great success in treating sciatica patients with chiropractic care but the patients who stretch in addition to the treatment that they receive in my office do better than those that don’t stretch.
Lower Back Pain Relief Stretches Watching TV
We are all guilty of not doing enough lower back stretches (well, at least most of us don’t stretch enough!). I have found that if I give the patients of my San Diego chiropractic clinic stretches that are easy and convenient that there is a much better chance that they will actually do them. Stretches help us maintain our flexibility but even more importantly they help us avoid injuries. The bottom line is that my patients who stretch on a regular basis are healthier than those who don’t. That being said, here are a few “television stretches” that I like to give to my patients that help them “limber up” while they are watching the tube.
We tend to take our bodies for granted until we are injured. Shoulder injuries can make you change the way you accomplish even the simplest of tasks. Shoulder injuries typically affect our ability to raise our elbow above the height of the shoulder or limit the amount of rotation that our shoulder joint is capable of. The most commonly injured muscles of the shoulder are the four muscles that make up the rotator cuff .
